Islamic Thought in the Prophetic Era: A Historical Study of Its Foundations and Prophetic Characteristics

Abstract

This research examines Islamic thought during the Prophetic Era as the foundational stage in the history of Islamic thought, wherein this thought took shape within a specific historical context linked to the revelation of the Qur'an and the establishment of the Islamic state in Medina.

The study adopts a comparative historical-intellectual approach aimed at analyzing the emergence and development of this thought in light of the major events witnessed by Arab society at the time, such as the transition from a tribal society to an Islamic society, the formation of political authority, and the formulation of legislation that regulated various aspects of life.

The historical and intellectual significance of the subject lies in its examination of a transformative moment in the history of the Arabian Peninsula, where thought shifted from a pre-Islamic framework based on tribalism and custom to a monotheistic framework grounded in revelation and legislative organization. It further highlights the importance of the Prophetic Era as the primary reference point from which the intellectual and civilizational structure of Islam was formed.
