Abstract

This study aimed to explore the impact of Blockchain technology on the accounting profession from the perspective of academic faculty members. To achieve this objective, the study relied on a descriptive-analytical approach, reviewing specialized books, scientific journals, and electronic resources. A total of 63 questionnaires were distributed both manually and electronically. Upon review, 50 questionnaires were found valid for statistical analysis procedures, representing a response rate of approximately 79% of the distributed questionnaires. The data was analyzed using appropriate statistical methods via the SPSS software. The results showed that the study sample possesses a very good level of knowledge and awareness regarding the impact and challenges of implementing Blockchain technology in the accounting profession.

The study concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: adopting a specific course for studying the accounting of Cryptocurrencies; focusing on scientific research for postgraduate students to clarify the importance of integrating Blockchain technology into accounting education; and providing the necessary financial funding from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to conduct scientific accounting research related to modern technologies
